What To Do With Those Little Bits Of Cereal Left In The Box

Don’t you hate having boxes of cereal that are just about empty in your pantry? We usually have five boxes or so sitting there with little morsels in them just begging  to be eaten. “Pick me, Pick me, please…..I’ve been sitting here for months!” Noone seems to want to eat those last bites in the [...]

Are You Afraid Boredom Will Ruin Your Marriage?

I decided to make this morning a little different. Before my husband was completely awake I started singing. The first song that came to my mind was “Spanish Flea” by Herb Albert and The Tijuana Brass. Don’t ask me why that stupid song popped into my head, but it did. I suggest you you tube it if you don’t know it. It will give you a good idea of how funny I looked and sounded lying on my back looking up at the ceiling singing this song.

Laughter Is The Outward Expression Of Joy

There we were in my uncles kitchen. My mother, uncle, cousins and nephews. Ken and I started to sing a little Irish ditty that someone had taught us years ago and off to the races we went with hysteria. We laughed and laughed.

I Get The Message!

The other day my friend and I were standing in my driveway getting ready to get in the car to go play some tennis. I had my cute little white tennis skirt on with my cute little white shirt. I had my cute little white socks on with my ever so cute little white tennis [...]

Birthday Bananza In Asheville

Between the four of us, we had two coolers, two bags of wigs, a multitude of suitcases and bags of incidentals, incidentals? From the moment they arrived at 11:00am we were pretty much out of control. We moved into our rooms, set up the bar and got out our wigs.

April Fools Prank (Part 1)

It was a very vague letter so I knew right then that my husband had pulled an April Fools joke on me. He said no, it wasn’t an April Fools joke and showed me the emails return address which was from this agency in Beverly Hills. He worked very hard at making everything look legitimate. He had the logo, he had a phone number which was real, he had Lois Goldman as the Senior Artistic Director who I looked up and sure enough she lived in Beverly Hills, he had the address, he worded things like an agent would. Everything made sense.

I Could Use A Cookie!!

I pulled in her driveway, clipped my wad of car keys to the outside of my purse as I always do, opened the car door, locked it and before I got out of the car, I thought, I don’t really need my purse, I’ll leave it in the car. Just as I closed the door I knew it was too late. Boom, the door shut and sure enough the door locked with my keys and purse on the floorboard in my car. Crap!

More Cowbell!

There are the cheerleaders bee bopping around, there’s the pep band doing their thing, there are the weird people in the stands annoyingly clanking their cow bells.

The Blowfish

We saw Anne dragging the net back to the dock and in it was this round thing that looked like a nerf ball or maybe a buoy. Anne popped that thing on the dock and this big round blow fish flipped on it’s back and started spewing water in little gushes out of it bitty gills. Funny little things that looked like ears. Water started to spray out of its strange snoot.

How Serendipitous!

We pulled into Georgetown for lunch and I said to my friend, “I bet we’ll end up seeing someone we know here.” She immediately said softly, “Yeah-Leigh” With that, I looked out the window and there was Leigh and her entourage. I yelled, “There she is!” We just couldn’t believe it. We screamed, hooted and hollered at the gang of girls right outside of my window. They were totally flabbergasted to see it was us. They didn’t even know that we were coming to the beach. It was one of those very cool, serendipitous moments. We saw them not ten seconds after saying we’d see them and we couldn’t have timed it better if we had planned it.
