Flower Power!

I don’t know about you, but one of my very favorite things in life are flowers.

The other day, my husband took a walk downtown and came back with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me.  What a sweet, thoughtful man he is. He knows how much I love flowers and now and then he’ll  show up with some just because.

This bouquet consisted of pale pink lilies, pink tulips, white daisies, and some other pretty little white flowers. The scent is intoxicating and I have them in a vase smack dab in the middle of my kitchen where I can see them easily.

Every morning I come downstairs to a sweet fragrance and I stand for a minute and marvel at these amazing flowers. What a joy it is to experience them.

A flower a day keeps the doldrums away. I always have live plants and something flowering in my house. Right now, the African violets are blooming again. It’s amazing. I’ve had them for years and they just keep blooming.

If you can’t afford to get yourself a bouquet of flowers, I suggest you buy what you can for yourself. Even if you get yourself one rose or one daisy. Place it in a bud vase and put it next to your bed. See it and appreciate it.

Sometimes I will go outside and scrounge around for something to make an arrangement with. I have a bush out back with some beautiful orange berries on it. I cut some branches of the berries, get some greenery from the yard and make my own unique creation.

The flower Alstroemeria (photo above)  will last a long time so that’s always a good choice. I had purchased a little bunch for New Years Eve and I just threw them away this morning.

The next time you’re feeling gloomy or happy, stop at a Florist and treat yourself to a bloom or two.

Experience Joy And Pass It On!
