Help! Do Something!

My last post was about laughter. Don’t you think laughter is something God gave us to help relieve the stresses of every day life?  After all, what is it?  It’s a strange thing that we do when we get together with other people.  We open our mouths, our eyes get all squinty and this weird sound comes out of our throats.  Hmm-kind of strange isn’t it?

I have another laughter story which just came upon me because we have friends staying with us right now and the episode happened at their house.

Ken and I were playing a gig in Blowing Rock.  We were staying over night at our friends house.  The four of us came home quite late after a really fun evening. It must have been around two am.

These friends of ours have two dogs and one of them must have gotten sick   All of a sudden we hear our buddy yell “OHHH!” in his NYish voice from the living room. The poor guy stepped in a pile of whatever and he was having a stroke over it.

We ran into the living room and there he was on the couch with a towel covering his entire head, foot up in the air, and goo dripping from between his toes.  He yelled out to his darling wife, “Do Something!”

We laughed so hard we thought we were going to split a gut.  It was priceless.  Disgusting I must admit, but so funny we couldn’t breathe.   We still kid our friend about it. “Do Something”  It’s one of those stories that you just had to be there.

Experience Joy And Pass It On!
