I’m Running Out Of Time!

I have spent most of the day trying to write a blog post. I said I was going to write every day so here I sit. I thought I could whip these blogs off pretty easily, but now that I’m getting concerned about my grammar it’s taking me a lot longer and I’m running out of time.

It is most frustrating for me when I put one paragraph into a grammar check program and it tells me that I have 5 errors. Oy! Five errors in one paragraph? We’re not talking about spelling errors, we’re talking about prepositions, and splintered sentences and all this other stuff I know nothing  about. What do I do? Stop writing? I want people to understand what the heck I’m saying and say it in a fashion that sounds intelligent.

Having content is not an issue for me. I always seem to have lots to say, but writing grammatically correct is not my forte. I write like I speak, loose. I suppose an English class would help me. I wasn’t a very good student in High School and spending time on the road singing certainly didn’t give me an opportunity to get great at writing. I wasn’t writing anything anyway so who cared?

Now that I created this joy log and I get to put my thoughts and ideas down, I suppose I will need to get some help. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to chime right in.

I suppose you’ll have to deal with my fragmented sentences and my loose writing style until I improve my writing skills. Uh….sounds so dull to me. Where’s the joy in learning about prepositions, verbs, punctuation and dangling participles (whatever the heck they are).

Believe it or not, I do have other things that I need to do besides sit here and write these blogs.  I can’t spend hours trying to make them  perfect right now.

I will work on my grammar if you’ll stick with me and keep reading.

Experience Joy And Pass It On!

It feels inappropriate to offer a negative comment to a blog about joy, but I’ll mention that I spotted six grammatical errors in your post. I happen to have a great affection for good grammar, to the point that i even enjoy proofreading. Go ahead, call me odd. But I could help you with your grammar if you’d be interested. Or else make your piece with your use of improper grammar and don’t worry about the 5% of us who happen to be anal on the subject.

Wow-six errors. I definitely have some work to do eh? I understand the love for good grammar and I believe it’s important but I don’t want to snuff the spontaneous fun out of my joy log. I’ll study, I’ll keep writing, I’ll get better little by little and when I’m ready to write my book, I’ll be amazing! Thanks for the offer, I may just take you up on it.

Um, Rick…I think you meant “make your peace” rather than “make your piece”…not to be anal or anything 🙂
