More Cowbell!

When was the last time you went to a football game? Have you ever been to a football game?

You really don’t have to be interested in the game or understand the rules to have a good time, because there’s so much other stuff going on.

There are the cheerleaders bee bopping around, there’s the pep band doing their thing, there are the weird people in the stands annoyingly clanking their cow bells. There are the fathers of the players who yell in your ear what a numb skull the referee is and it’s just fun to wrap up in a blanket, sip coffee and throw peanut shells all over the bleachers.

Ken and I went to a High School football game the other night with a friend. I must admit, I didn’t know anything about these teams or the High School itself. Our friend knew one of the players and wanted to go to support him. Why not?

It was a beautiful night. The air was crisp and cold with no wind. We brought our blankets and butt protectors. We call them butt protectors, their just little squares of foam that cushion the derriere.

I said to the guys “Do these cheerleaders throw little footballs into the stands?”  They had no idea of what I was talking about. With that, the cheerleaders started throwing miniature footballs up into the bleachers.  I smiled. I was hoping that one of my dates would score one for me, but no such luck.

It was an exciting game. It was tied at the very end and then our home team won with a great kick for a field goal. This was the semi finals so it was pretty darn exciting. Everyone went crazy.

There is no reason why you can’t go experience a football game just for the fun of it. I don’t have kids, I don’t know anyone on the team but I could feel the magic and electricity zooming around the stands from person to person. Everyone was in sync yelling “Defense, Defense!”

I suggest that you go to a football game sometime just for the joy of it.  It’s an inexpensive fun outdoor event.   One more new experience for you to add to your list.

Why not surprise your husband or boyfriend and tell him you want to go to a football game this weekend.  It could be a way for you to score  brownie points and….. you just might have a good time.

Experience Joy And Pass It On!
