The Skuttlebutt At The Oscars!

Just so you know, this blog is all in fun.  I have the utmost respect for anyone who is in the entertainment field. I’m in the entertainment business and I know what it’s like having people stare at you all night. I don’t really like it and I’m sure people have plenty to say about me.

The pressures we put upon Hollywood stars to be perfect is daunting. I’m not sure that I could handle it. Look how many superstars we’ve lost to drugs and alcohol because they’ve had to live up to that bigger than life status.

Like millions of other Americans, I too watched the Oscars. A friend of ours had a group of people over for a potluck, then we all filed downstairs to watch the big TV screen while lounging on sofas and pillows.

Having a big TV to watch makes it more fun because we can really zoom in on all of the superstars flaws right? Why do we have so much fun tearing these movie stars apart anyway? After all, they’re all gorgeous and didn’t get to be a movie star by being a putz.

Since I only saw three of the movies that were nominated, the show wasn’t all that interesting to me. I do however have my opinions as far as the movie stars go, so let me have my Joan Rivers moment.

First, we have Angelina Jolie. I wasn’t impressed with her skinny leg hanging out of her dress and I think she needs to put some meat on her bones. Even a dog would pass her up.

J-Lo was stunning, always sexy and ultra brave. We were waiting for the tape to let loose now weren’t we? Of course the hoopla is…..the tape did give way and her nip slipped out. I suppose if you were sitting there with a magnifying glass staring at her breasts (which most men were doing I’m sure) you’d see it, but I didn’t even notice. Who really cares. Is it really that big of a deal? It’s just one more thing for us crazies to talk about.

Cameron Diaz was looking fine with her buff arms and muscular back. Her hair was a little raggedy but not horrible.  Brad baby looked gorgeous, end of story. Georgie was dashing as always with those adorable brown eyes and sexy smile. He always has a beautiful babe by his side but who would notice, he takes center stage if you ask me.

What happened to Sandra Bullock? Who stuck her in that ugly frock of a thing?  Did she just get up from a long nap? Her eyes were all scrunched closed and her face just didn’t look quite right to me.  It’s not like Miss Sandra to look so dreary.

Of course we have the lovely Meryl Streep who always looks a bit matronly but elegant. I thought she looked nice in her gold wrapping paper like evening gown.  Her speech reflected what a lovely woman she really is. She is a true movie star in my book.

Moving on to Gwyneth. I didn’t care much for the cape. It made her shoulders look broad and bonier than the bony things that they are.  Once she took the cape off I thought the dress was lovely. She could have used a little bit of color around her face. She had no jewelry on and I thought she needed a bit more pizazz in the hair and makeup department.

The girl that played Marilyn Monroe, Michelle Williams looked elegant and adorable in her red dress with that pixie haircut.

Penelope Cruz was stunning in her purplish flowing gown but the hairdo was too old fashioned for me. She could have looked prettier with a more youthful style.

Our host Billy Crystal was cute as can be and still does a great job at keeping us entertained. Bravo Billy.

There are more stars that we can talk about but who has time to make chopped liver?

I would love to hear what you have to say. ME—OW!
